"You have a garden?" he said incredulously, watching as she kneeled in the dirt and uprooted a weed with more force than he thought was strictly necessary.
She glanced up. "That surprises you?"
"Well, it's just so domestic..."
"Listen, when the zombies come, the virus is going to spread fast, and take over the entire world. If I have a garden, then I can stay here as long as I need to. It's self sufficient."
"I should've known," he said in a resigned tone.
"Right. If I could build a moat, I would."
